Post 9: Food

Food

I really like food in the many varieties that exist and I will tell you about the things that I like most and least.
I'll start by saying that I'm a vegetarian, but that did not limit me much to eat what I want without meat.

My favourite kind of food is italian, like pastas in general, pizza and hot chocolate. I actually like because the pasta in the diference varieties has a lot of flavour and some pastas has deliciuos filling inside like ravioli and gnocchi. Beside that, the italian sauce is woderful, the sauce that I eat the most is bolognesa, but Pesto and Alfredo sauce are just as wonderful. And piza, I really like pizza because it is so versatile, you can customize as you want.

My favourite ingredients for food are tomatoes, avocado, cheese, creme cheese, lettuce, asparagus, broccoli and spices like oregano, rosemary and tarragon for example. On the other hand, I truly dislike beetraga and meat, obviously.

Besides the pizza, my favourite food is sushi (without fish because fish are free and friendly souls). You can make sushi rolling in a special rice for sushi and a cap of nori your favourites ingredients, I like to put it avocado, coriander, creme cheese, mushrooms and other cruelty free stuff, also, you can fried the roll and it call tempura, the flavour is delicious specially with teriyaki sauce.

Post 8: My favorite subject this term

My favorite subject

The subject that I most enjoy is Workshop by Domingo Arancibia. In this class, Domingo he makes us experience with diferences and unusual materials for create things related with architecture. We make abstract models representing firmitas (firmness), utilitas (utility) and venustas (beauty) and generate habitable spaces.

Also, we learn about famous and important architects like Peter Zumthor, Mies Van Der Rohe and specially Le Corbusier, Domingo calls him "The Jesus of architecture" and is a true fan.

Once, we went to Campus San Joaquín of Universidad Católica to do sketches about the buildings in the campus, we practice our draw and learned to observe.

I really like this subject because is actually architecture unlike the others subjects. We do things for real and not  theoretical, we make projects and experience with thing that are not realeted with usual materials in the carreer like paperboard, we use fruits, vegetables, lasagna, caramel, eggs, foam, paper and specially our imagination, and that's the best part because we need to use it for understand the orders that our professor leave us.

I've wanted to study architecture since I was 9 years old and it's amazing to do this thing in this subject, this motivates me to follow this path for many years in my life.

Post 6, My favourite cartoon from my childhood

My favourite cartoon from my childhood

In my childhood I saw many cartoons like teen titans, ed, edd n eddy, etc. But there is a cartoon that marked my childhood, Courage the cowardly dog.

The cartoon is about a dog called Courage who fights against many supernatural and terrifying characters.
He has an adoptive mother called Muriel who rescued him from streets, he, eternally grateful, has many adventures rescuing muriel from all the monsters that disturb his house, even her husban Eustace, who hates courage and scares him with a big mask.

Courage the cowardly dog deal with various themes that today are not considered appropriate for children like the episode "The mask" that is about Kitty, a kitten who arrived to Courage's house to ask for help for his friend Bunny, who who has been mistreated by her aggressive boyfriend. In this episode we can observe adults themes like machism, abuse, prostitution, mafias and slavery.
Besides, this cartoon has a lot of scary monsters that causenightmares to child who saw it, one of this is Fred, a psychopath person obsessed with hair, specifically with cutting it, wich many people belive that is a pedofhile.
Despite how dark it is, this is my favourite cartoon and i¿I would see it even today.

For my personal comunication I use whatsapp and it's my more useful app because I can use it form network with the people and get agree of importante thing being kilometers away. On the other hand, I use my phone for my music, specially Da tuner lite for the tuning of my instrument and my hand (in the case of Violoncello) and a metronome for do not get lost and follow the rythm.

Vanessa Galatea Gallegos Carrasco was born in Santiago in October the 17th of 1999. Her second name, Galatea, was chosen by a day-dreamer and wild 17 years old teenager who loved Dalí wich she will call mother. The first years were very difficult for this duo, specially because the mother studied social work in the University and Vanessa was a little child, but Vanessa's grandparents helped them to be happy day to day. The years passed and Paula, the mother, received her title, while Vanessa started her elementary education in Alcántara de La Florida, where she started to feel passion for the arts in general and she entered to many workshops like theater, paint, visual arts, etc, then, begining the interest for the architecture.
When she entered to her high-school at Carmela Carvajal in Providencia, she started to play de Violoncello in the OJDP (Orquesta Juvenil de Providencia) and she fell in love with the instrument, unfortunately she had to leave cello when began the class to get prepared for PSU in her last year. To this day she still miss cello, but the sacrifice wasn't in vain, because she managed her dream of study Architecture in Universidad de Chile.
Today, she is very happy in the University, with new friends, a beautiful career and new challenges, she still in love with arts and probably, in the future, will study Visual Arts and resume playing cello. It will be complicated, but, like her mother teached her, whoever seeks it, gets it.
